She has extensive experience working with diverse populations, including LGBTQIA+ individuals, immigrants, neurodivergent patients, and those with complex medical and psychiatric conditions.
What sets Dr. Delawter apart is her commitment to treating the whole person—not just the diagnosis.
What sets Dr. Delawter apart is her commitment to comprehensive treatment —not just the diagnosis. She takes a biopsychosocial approach, carefully considering how medical conditions, life circumstances, and emotional experiences interact to affect mental health. She understands that symptoms of depression, anxiety, or mood instability may sometimes be linked to underlying medical issues—such as hormonal imbalances or diseases like diabetes—and ensures these factors are not overlooked.
Dr. Delawter’s philosophy is simple: effective treatment begins with understanding the whole person.
By integrating medical insight with genuine human connection, she helps patients move toward healthier, more balanced lives.
Dr. Delawter is known for taking the time to truly listen to her patients. She works collaboratively to understand their stories, identify root causes, and develop thoughtful, individualized treatment plans. Her goal is not just symptom relief, but meaningful, lasting treatment in overall health and quality of life.
In addition to her private practice, Dr. Delawter has held numerous leadership and clinical roles in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including serving as an attending psychiatrist, Medical Director of a partial hospitalization program, and Chairperson of the Department of Psychiatry at a community Hospital . She has also worked extensively in addiction medicine, including medication-assisted treatment with Suboxone and related therapies, and has recently trained in the use of Spravato (esketamine) for treatment-resistant depression.
She remains deeply committed to education, advocacy, and reducing the stigma surrounding mental health. She continues to promote a more compassionate and informed approach to psychiatric care through teaching, public speaking, and community involvement.
